Poppies and wildflowers in May

Ever since my father sent me a postcard from Paris of Claude Monet’s Poppies at Argenteuil I have been in love with poppies. Nothing in the world looks as romantic to me and I think that it is the red in a swirling sea of green, or is it the green in a swirling sea of red? Anyway, in El Maestrat the poppies are magnificent in May, and they last for weeks.  There are also many other wildflowers and it is said more than anywhere else in Europe.  The poor mountain soil and calcium-rich soil has much to do with it.  Poppies and wildflowers in late spring, just magic in El Maestrat
